OCME VEGA Shrink wrappers chosen as the solution to PZ Cussons challenging packaging project in the UK

OCME S.r.l. from Parma Italy, a world leader in packaging, filling, handling and palletising systems for the consumer products industry, have recently installed two of their VEGA Shrink Wrapping machines in the PZ Cussons UK manufacturing plant.

PZ Cussons are a global producer of Personal care, Household and Laundry cleaning products with known brands such as ‘Morning Fresh, Radiant, Imperial Leather, Cussons, Duo, Trix’ and more.

The company required a shrink wrapper that could wrap in a 6x1 collation, with film only, without the need of a support tray. Poor stability, due to the unusual shape of the shower gel bottles added to the complexity of PZ Cusson’s requirements.

The OCME VEGA N Series machines were chosen as they have in-built solutions such as shaped guides, especially designed to cater for all shapes of containers and angled side setting devices which eliminate the risk of containers falling. Other features include a flow adjustment system which avoids jerky stops and starts and a bridge breaker system that only comes into operation when a jam is detected.

The VEGA N series is a high speed machine that covers speeds from 60 up to 150 cycles / minute. It can operate in a single, dual or triple track mode depending on the bundle size and processing containers such as bottles, cans, jars, multi-packs. It can be used for film only, film + pad and film + tray packages
